A group for adults on the autism spectrum, centered in the SF Bay Area. The Autastics holds regular monthly meetings in or near SF, with every third or so meeting in the San Jose, California, area. We also go on regular outings (hikes, etc.) together.
For parents, caregivers, educators and other professionals, from Yolo County CA and the surrounding counties, that work with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Asperger Syndrome, Nonverbal Learning Disability, etc.
For the 32 schoolchildren who go bowling for an hour and a half every week, it's just a fun activity and a chance to hang out with other kids in an air-conditioned room. For their parents, it's a lifesaver. These kids and parents are part of Santa Clarita Autism Asperger Network and have been meeting all summer at the local bowling alley in a way to socialize and glean support for each other.

We are a group of parents and professionals interested in AS (and similar problems such as HFA, PDD-NOS, NLD, SPD and Hyperlexia). We meet monthly to discuss these issues, either for general discussions or discussions with invited experts.

Wings Learning Center was created to address the academic and social needs of children with autism and communication disorders, making it possible for them to interact, learn and live with typically developing children. Wings is a school for children between the ages of 5 and 15. Respect for each child's learning differences is the cornerstone of our philosophy.
